Generosity is at the heart of our Help in Action & Food for the Poor Nepal management
Wealth and poverty is the reason for our existence. Our management focuses on addressing these issues. Understanding our management’s role in combating these disparities is crucial.

The Food for the Poor Nepal project is part of the non-profit organisation Help in Action. It was set up by the CEO of Phoenix Import – Mani Bhadra Netherlands, Jan de Ruiter. Over the past 25 years, he has witnessed the harrowing and often degrading living and housing conditions in Nepal up close. The project is a contribution to change this.
Help in Action is a non-profit organisation founded by T.Y.S. Lama Gangchen, a Tibetan lama, who lived in the West for many years and who worked tirelessly to promote a positive mutual exchange of knowledge and humanitarian aid between the Far East and West.
“Kiurok Tsochun”, the Tibetan name he originally gave to the association, means “help to the poorest and most forgotten”.
The Association is a member of the Lama Gangchen World Peace Foundation, NGO affiliated to the United Nations in consultative status with ECOSOC.
Our organisation members selflessly support the Food for the Poor project wholeheartedly! Can you support us as a sponsor? Generosity is at the heart of our being.
How will my donation be used? 100% of your donation will be spent exclusively on daily fresh meals.
How are additional costs paid for? All additional costs such as expenses for the volunteers, cardboard cups, forks and spoons, advertising costs, website costs and travel and transport costs are sponsored by Phoenix Import.
How can we continue our mission daily? With the help of a monthly recurring donation from sponsors such as €10.00 a month for 10 meals. Generosity and helping others is naturally in our hearts.
The Foundation works largely on a voluntary basis in different countries: 100% of the money received for a particular project is used for that project. The Foundation is based in Italy and has branches in the Netherlands and Germany, which have charitable status. That is why you can deduct donations from your tax return in these countries under certain conditions. The organisation has been working on a voluntary basis since 1992 and was registered in Italy in 1997. In 2019, it was recognised as an ONLUS Foundation. The organisation promotes humanitarian aid projects in favour of the least developed countries, in particular the populations of the Himalayas.
